As part of the Zoning Department, Zoning was created to promote and protect the public health, safety, and general welfare of the Jamestown Community by enforcing the zoning regulations. It is also responsible for approving building or alterations to property such as signs, fences, sidewalk/driveways, and sheds, as well as reviewing all building and development plans.

Zoning Applications & Requirements:

Zoning Commission Meetings are help at the Municipal Building located at 84 Seaman Dr. on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6pm when a case needs to be presented. All residence are welcome to attend! 

Zoning Permit
A Zoning Permit needs to be issued for a new home, sidewalk, driveway, storage shed, deck, garages, room addition, porch, fences, above and inground pools.

All Zoning Permits must accompany a drawing with the dimensions of the property, the general location of the home, location of the new structure – distances indicated to the rear and side property lines. The dimensions of the structure must be clearly indicated!

Completed zoning applications with attachments can be emailed to zoning@jamestownohio.gov or dropped off at the Jamestown Municipal Office at 84 Seaman Dr. Jamestown, Ohio 45335.

1113.03 Fee for Zoning Permit is $50.00 (07.21.08)

Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card at https://www.paymentservicenetwork.com/Login.aspx or at the village office. 

Most Common Violations in Residential Areas 
Overgrown grass and weeds:  Grass and weeds must be maintained at a height of 8 inches or less.

Structures in disrepair:  Accessory structures such as sheds, fences, doors, windows and roofing, must be maintained in good repair.

Vehicles:  Motor vehicles and trailers on your property must be operable and have up-to-date registration, or if non-operable shall be parked or stored on any residential property other than in a completely enclosed building.
